Friendships

Last night I celebrated the birthday I one of my oldest and most treasured friends. It was a surprise party and we really surprised her. I met Carla in our 3rd grade class and we have been friends ever since. We shared sleepovers with late night calls to KROQ loveline, TPing houses, Marching Band, Tennis and Swim team and she was even there for me during some of my most trying times. Carla was one of the first to know when I discovered I was pregnant at 17 with out judgement and she was a bridesmaid in my wedding. It doesn't matter that we don't talk everyday and yes have gone for very long periods without seeing each other but when we finally do get together it is like we were never apart. I know that if I ever needed anything that I could pick up the phone and know that she will drop what she is doing for me.
I love this girl like a sister and am blessed that she is part of my life. Happy Birthday girl.

That time again

We have had a nice little break but the time has come yet again. Baseball season. Hunter decided that he wanted to play this season. After years following Ashley around the softball fields you would think that we would be so ready for this time to come. I can tell you that it wears you out. Not so much the sport just everything that comes with the sport like opening day ceremonies I could do without. I do enjoy watching the kids play though and get so excited for them when they make a good play and feel their upset when they have tried so hard but still stuck out at the plate or missed that pop fly. Here is to baseball season, Let's Play Ball
